About the Role:

The Finance Manager will work with all business units to develop and maintain financial accountability and controls that are fit for purpose and cost effective. Reporting to the CFO, the role will be responsible for collaboratively developing financial related strategy, liaising with key partners and ensuring the development and maintenance of high-quality finance management systems and compliance in accordance with multi-jurisdictional legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team in Finance, Payroll, Procurement and Travel;
  • Manage the month end close and monthly reporting process, with full responsibility of general and sub-ledgers, balance sheet and account reconciliation;
  • Provide financial and management reporting including review and analyses of monthly reports, providing commentaries on variance;
  • Oversee cash flow analysis and management;
  • Manage year-end and audit processes, including preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with Audit;
  • Manage equity reporting and investment accounting;
  • Manage company assets through maintaining HOST Asset Register;
  • Prepare and lodgemonthly Business Activity Statements;
  • Manage project costing and feasibility reporting, continuously reviewing current structures and making recommendations towards efficiency;
  • Manage HOST’s financial, payroll and other taxation compliance obligations;
  • Work closely with the CFO and senior management team to develop and implement targeted strategies and business growth plans.
  • Develop, implement and contribute to financial, and governance related policies, systems and procedures; and
  • Remain abreast of relevant industry or legislative changes and utilise expert knowledge in emerging trends to provide advice.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Formal accounting qualification such as CA/CPA preferably with a management qualification and a minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in accounting, financial management and budgeting;
  • Proven record of achievement in financial planning, controlling, developing and strengthening accounting and administration processes to meet short and long-term plans;
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting systems and experience in design and implementation;
  • Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically, facilitating the development of strategic frameworks and capabilities within the organisation;
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in developing and implementing system and process improvements within tight timeframes; 
  • Experience using complex Finance and Payroll systems and advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office 365; and
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate and influence Payroll and Finance concepts to individuals at all levels and to multi-disciplinary teams.
