The newly created role of IT Help Desk Technician will be responsible for maintaining HOST’s information technology (IT) systems and networks, performing both technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom systems across locations. Reporting to the ICT Manager this position will to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems in the organisation. The position will be the first line of support in answering queries on basic technical issues and offer efficient and sound advice to solve them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking assistance over the phone or email
  • Provide efficient help desk and technical support, diagnosing, resolving all service desk tickets
  • Perform troubleshooting, data restoration and monitor SaaS backups;
  • Install and configure software and hardware (printers, network cards etc.);
  • Monitor system and network performances, acting as a link between end users and higher-level support;
  • Maintain system and network licenses and upgrade schedules;
  • Provide support in the the implementation of the IT plan and train the relevant individuals;
  • Seek opportunities to work collaboratively with staff on continuous system improvements, participating in collaborative planning activities and quality assurance activities; and
  • Ensure consumers’ rights are protected adhering to legislative and regulatory compliance related to privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Diploma in IT and demonstrated sound experience as an IT support or similar;
  • Proven experience as a help desk technician in a corporate environment;
  • Customer-orientated, able to work autonomously and under pressure;
  • Experience in Windows 10, 0365 Administration, Active directory, Exchange Cloud services, VoIP and PC imaging
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems and applications;
  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and LAN/WAN configuration;
  • Highly developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to build influential and productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders in complex and challenging environments;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines and show initiative.
